If you’ve been following our body-type series — the Intestinal and Blood food guides, the meal-prep and reset-week plans — you already know the source: Dr. Carolyn Mein’s 25 Body Type System. What’s easy to miss is that Mein didn’t stop writing when the books were done. She’s published a free monthly newsletter since July 2013, and the entire archive — roughly 150 issues — sits on her site, free to read, no sign-up required to browse.

It’s the living supplement to the books: where new body types get profiled, food questions get answered (“is dairy good for me?”, “what fish should I eat?”), and the essential-oil emotional work gets a new installment every month. This post is the map we wished existed — how the archive works, which issues feature your type, and the ones we’d read first.

What’s in a typical issue

Most issues follow the same three-part shape:

  1. A practical topic — nutrition, weight, detox, relationships, stress. These are short, direct articles, usually with the body-type angle worked in.
  2. An essential-oil feature — one oil and the emotional pattern it helps release, drawing on her book Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils.
  3. A body-type profile — one of the 25 types: how to recognize it (body shape, weight-gain pattern, personality), with a self-check list. The types rotate alphabetically, so each one comes around roughly every two years.

How to navigate the archive

The archive page shows only the 10 most recent issues by default — easy to assume that’s all there is. Three filters open up the rest:

  • Year — the dropdown auto-filters to every issue of that year, back to 2013.
  • Body Type — pulls every issue that features a given type. This is the fastest way to find your coverage.
  • Essential Oil — the same idea for a specific oil.

And since every issue follows the pattern bodytype.com/newsletter_archives/[mmm]_[yyyy].html, you can jump straight to any month once you know it exists.

Your body type’s back issues

Here’s the index we built for ourselves: each of the 25 types, with the issues that feature it. (Compiled from the issue titles from 2018 onward plus the 2013 launch issues; the types rotate, so most have earlier features too — the archive’s Body Type filter catches everything.)

The food and nutrition picks

The body-type profiles are the draw, but the practical articles are where the archive earns a bookmark. Our picks, grouped the way you’d actually use them:

Foods on trial — Mein’s answers to the “is this good for me?” questions:

Eating by type — the system applied day to day:

Weight, without the gimmicks:

Everyday practice:

And if essential oils are your door in — we share that interest, it’s half of what we make and sell — the Essential Oil filter on the archive page pulls every issue featuring a given oil, each paired with the emotional pattern Mein matches it to.

If you’re the Intestinal type, start here

Our kitchen runs on the Intestinal lists, so here’s that type’s shelf in one place: Sep 2024, Aug 2022, Jul 2020, and Jun 2018. Happily, the topics they ride along with — packable meals and snacks, the vegetarian question, whether fruit earns its reputation — are exactly the questions a sensitive gut asks. Read them next to our Intestinal food guide and the tiers will feel familiar fast.

That guide already carries the most recent newsletter’s advice: the October 2026 issue’s start-small on-ramp for the food lists is folded into its How to actually use this section. As future issues touch the Intestinal type, that’s where the updates will land.

The fine print

The newsletters, the 25 Body Type System, and the books are Dr. Mein’s work, hosted on BodyType.com — we link rather than republish, and the system is her model, not mainstream nutrition; we offer it as a lens some of you find genuinely useful. If you don’t yet know your type, her site has the body type test, and the per-type Diet & Profile books are available there in ebook and paperback.

Simplify, create, and live with God in your heart.
